Eugenia Zaikina, QA Team Lead
Eugenia Zaikina, QA Team Lead, Exactpro, will talk about her professional growth at the company, striving for continuous development and love of learning foreign languages.
I joined Exactpro a little over nine years ago. I started as a junior tester, and, over time, I worked my way up to Project Manager in functional testing we provide for one of the largest European exchanges. Three years later, I decided to give that position up to work in a reconсiliation testing team, as it seemed like a more creative kind of job. Last year, I initiated and successfully completed a proof of concept for a framework that automates manual testing of web application GUIs, which eventually led to the creation of a new team.
I love learning new things and developing the skills I already have. For example, I enjoy learning foreign languages – for about a year, I took Italian classes held for our company's team members, and now I'm studying Spanish on my own. Besides, this year, I took the B2 First Exam (and got the highest grade! :D), which I've been planning to do for quite a long time. Also, in my current position, I regularly have to do new things and, thus, look for ways of solving the current tasks, and I enjoy that very much.
I think that, for a successful career, people should always take the chance to show initiative, and that the desire and ambition to grow one’s skills are no less important than the knowledge we already have.
