Today, Vladimir Varnakov, Senior QA Engineer at Exactpro, will talk about the various software testing tasks he gets to solve and his pursuit of professional growth and learning new things.
I joined Exactpro back in the summer of 2014. I had no previous experience in software testing. On my first project, I focused on testing various components of a trading platform. Then, I worked and am still working on a project for testing a market surveillance system.
In my work, I have to deal with quite different tasks based on the project needs: creating test scripts, analysing requirements, configuring test environments and test tools, performing manual and automated tests, automating various processes, and much more.
The tasks I enjoy most are those that make me learn new things. Over the last year, I have thoroughly studied application containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and learned a lot about cloud infrastructures (Amazon Web Services).
I enjoy spending my free time with my family – going for walks, playing board games, visiting interesting places and events.
